Dry Vermouth is lighter in body with less than 4 percent sugar and is often used in cooking or as a marinade for meat but is most popular for giving the dry in dry martinis. Sweet Vermouth is sweeter due to the sugar syrup that ups the sugar content to 10 to 15 percent. The name vermouth come from the French pronunciation of the German “Wermut”
