Drinks & Cocktails with Chilled Lapsang Souchong Tea
Lapsang souchong is a Chinese black tea that gets its unique taste from the way it’s smoke-dried over pinewood. To make chilled lapsang souchong tea, just brew a cup as you normally would, and let it chill. If you’ve got the time though, we’d recommend cold-brewing. To do this, just let the leaves steep in cold water for a few hours or overnight. By cold-brewing, you release less bitter-tasting tannins, giving the tea a cleaner taste.
For cocktails, we love to use chilled lapsang souchong tea to add complex flavor and a smoky aroma to sweet and fruity drinks like the Orchard.
