Tequila ist ein destillierter Spirituose, der aus blauer Agave in Jalisco, auch bekannt als die Tequila-Region Mexikos, hergestellt wird. Je nach Alterung wird Tequila in eine von vier Kategorien eingeteilt: Blanco, Reposado, Añejo oder Extra Añejo. Besonders bekannt ist Tequila Blanco, der häufig als Shot zusammen mit einer Prise Salz und einem Limettenstück konsumiert wird, während ältere Tequilas pur oder auf Eis getrunken werden. In Cocktails wird Tequila für eine Vielzahl von Klassikern wie Margarita, Paloma und Tequila Sunrise verwendet.
