Ein Weinbrand aus der Gegend um Cognac im Westen Frankreichs. Es gibt mehrere Unteranbaugebiete und drei Altersprädikate: „XO“ (besonders alt, mindestens sieben Jahre im Fass gelagert), Napoleon (mindestens sechs Jahre im Fass) und „VS“ (ganz besonders, mindestens drei Jahre im Fass). Cognac schmeckt vorzüglich pur getrunken aus einem Kognakschwenker, ergibt jedoch auch eine großartige Zutat.
