Bebidas y cócteles con Vermú Seco

El vermú es un vino macerado en flores, hierbas y especias y endulzado con azúcar moreno o caramelizado, y es el ingrediente clave del Dry Martini, el Negroni y el Manhattan. El vermú también puede degustarse como aperitivo o servir de sustituto al vino blanco en algunas recetas de cocina. Existen dos tipos, el dulce y el seco, y también está disponible en rojo o rosado al añadirle un color caramelo. El vermú seco presenta un cuerpo más ligero, ya que contiene menos de un 4 % de azúcar, y suele usarse en recetas de cocina o para marinar carne, aunque su uso más famoso es darle el toque seco al Dry Martini. El vermú dulce tiene, como su nombre indica, un sabor más dulce debido al sirope de azúcar, que aumenta el contenido en azúcar hasta entre un 10 % y un 15 %. El término vermú viene del alemán “Wermut”, que significa “ajenjo”, una de las plantas usadas como ingrediente de esta bebida a lo largo de los años.
