Absolut Vodka, Soda Water, Lime
Fill a chilled highball glass with Ice. Add Absolut Vodka and top up with cold soda water. Squeeze 1 or 2 lime wedges over the top and drop them in the glass. Enjoy!
The ratio of vodka to soda water is a matter of personal preference, but we recommend going for a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio to start with.
Hot tip: Get creative with garnishes! Adding a sprig of a kitchen herb like basil, mint or rosemary is a great way to elevate your vodka soda!
Also, the key to a perfect vodka soda is chill, so make sure to keep the glass, Soda Water and Vodka cold before pouring. This makes the carbonation last longer as a warm mixer will melt the ice faster and over dilute your drink. No one likes a lukewarm glass of flat vodka water.

While the practice of diluting alcohol with water has been around for centuries, carbonation has a more recent history of about 250 years. Interestingly, carbonated water was discovered by accident in the 1770s when a bowl of water was mistakenly left above a beer vat at a brewery.
In 1783, a young entrepreneur established a renowned soft drink company, and one of his early successes was Bottled Soda Water. Towards the end of the 19th century, a Washington lobbyist introduced the trend of mixing Bourbon with soda water and fresh lime. This drink, known as the Bourbon Rickey, quickly gained popularity, leading to various personalized versions using other spirits. Among them, the Gin Rickey emerged as a crowd favorite.
Fast forward to the 1970s, and vodka began to rival whisky in US sales and Vodka Highballs with Soda Water were introduced to the world.
What is Vodka Soda made of?
Just as the name suggests, a Vodka Soda is made with Vodka and Soda Water. It's a popular highball drink that combines a base spirit with a single mixer. In Asia, Whisky Highballs are widely enjoyed, especially in Japan where they’re a staple at Izakaya around the country. To elevate the flavor of a Vodka Soda, you can add a splash of fresh lime juice to the drink.
Can I use any mineral water for my Vodka Soda?
Practically the answer is yes. Theoretically we recommend proper Soda Water for your drink as it has been carbonated under higher pressure which basically gives more and bigger bubbles that will live longer in your drink. We recommend keeping any carbonated mixer chilled before using, as cold carbonated mixers that are carbonated stay fizzy for longer.
