All about the Spicy Mangotini
A Spicy Mangotini is a vodka martini made with Absolut Mango, Absolut Peppar, fresh lemon juice, mango purée, and simple syrup. Shaken and double-strained into a martini glass, this fruitini is then garnished with two slices of jalapeño.
With a Spicy Mangotini, you experience the ripe tropical sweetness of mango from both the mango-flavored vodka and mango purée, enhanced by simple syrup, and a sour citrusy bite from fresh lemon juice. Then, there’s a delightful peppery sting from black pepper-flavored vodka and lingering spiciness from jalapeño.
This cocktail delivers double the heat – first from the cracked black pepper-flavored vodka, then from the fresh jalapeño. It’s a drink that works on every level
- Make your own mango purée
Blend ripe mango pieces in a blender. If the purée becomes too thick, start by adding a teaspoon of water, adding more as needed. If your mangoes are pulpy, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or a regular household sieve for a smoother texture. - Double strain your cocktail
Since this cocktail contains purée and is shaken with ice, we recommend double-straining your drink.Use a Hawthorne strainer along with a fine-mesh strainer to pour the cocktail from the shaker into your martini glass. This ensures you don’t end up with any unwanted mango pulp or ice shards in your drink, providing a smoother drinking experience. - Fresh lemon juice
To ensure your Spicy Mangotini balances the sweetness of mango with the zesty flavor of lemon juice, make your own lemon juice. Avoid store-bought options and squeeze the juice from a couple of lemons yourself.
- Chill your martini glass
We recommend serving your Spicy Mangotini in a chilled martini glass. Simply put your martini glass(es) in the freezer for 30 minutes beforehand. A perfect martini is always about the details and it’s little things like a chilled martini glass that make a huge difference. - Jalapeño garnish
We recommend garnishing your drink with a couple of slices of fresh jalapeño – not the canned ones, which are soft and soaked in vinegar – placed directly into your glass. - Chili-lime salt rim
If you want even more spiciness and heat, rim your glass with either chili-lime salt or a Mexican spice mix. Simple rub lime juice around the rim of your glass and then tip the rim into the salt or spice mix. - Lime wheel and fresh mango slice
If you want to garnish your drink with more than jalapeño slices, perch a lime wheel on the side of your glass. Alternatively, to enhance the mango flavors and visual appeal, garnish your drink with a slice of fresh mango.
