Passion For Days is a fruit-forward vodka cocktail made with Absolut Passionfruit, mango juice and fresh lime juice, topped with lemon-lime soda – tropical, vibrant and with a crisp, effervescent finish.
As Ricardo ‘Rico’ Dynan, bartender and Absolut Global Brand Ambassador, puts it: “If you’ve ever asked your bartender for something fruity, sweet and exotic, you already know what’s great about this drink.”
He’s not wrong. Passion For Days is a built cocktail with a lot going on – passionfruit, mango and lime, lifted by lemon-lime soda. The drink for any occasion that calls for something a little more tropical.

All about the Passion For Days cocktail
Passion For Days is an easy-to-make vodka cocktail made with passion fruit-flavored vodka, mango juice and lime juice, topped with lemon-lime soda. Built directly in the glass – no shaking or straining needed – it’s served in a wine glass filled with ice and garnished with a lime wheel and a pineapple leaf.
Sweet, fruity and boldly tropical. The mango juice and passion fruit-flavored vodka bring a bold, exotic depth, while fresh lime juice adds a bright, tart edge that stops it tipping into sweetness. Lemon-lime soda lifts everything with a clean, sweet, effervescent finish.
Passion For Days was created by the Absolut Drinks Team in 2022 for a YouTube episode of Absolut Drinks with Rico.
- Make your own mango juice
With a drink this simple, it’s all about the quality of your ingredients. Store-bought mango juice often contains preservatives and additives – homemade mango juice is just mango, nothing else, and the difference is noticeable. See the FAQ below for how to make it at home. - Squeeze your own lime juice The same rule applies – skip the store-bought lime juice and squeeze fresh. That zesty, tart bite of real lime juice is what cuts through the mango and passionfruit and keeps the drink balanced.
- Add the lemon-lime soda last
Always add the soda last and pour it gently. This preserves the carbonation and keeps the effervescence intact. Stir once, lightly, to combine. Over-stirring will flatten the soda and take away the crisp finish that makes this drink work.
- Use mango-flavored vodka
Swap Absolut Passionfruit for Absolut Mango and you’ve got what you could call a Mango For Days – fresh mango juice and mango-flavored vodka in the same glass. Bold, fruity and worth trying. Simply follow the recipe and swap the vodka. - Lemon soda or lemon-lime soda
Either works here. Lemon soda gives a slightly sharper citrus edge, while lemon-lime soda is more widely available and adds a softer, rounder finish. Use whichever you prefer or have on hand.
Tropical drink, tropical finish. Here’s how to serve a Passion For Days.
- Glassware
A sturdy wine glass is the natural choice, as Rico and Hedda use in the video. A highball or Collins glass works just as well. Either way, choose something tall enough to accommodate plenty of ice and a generous pour of lemon-lime soda. - Lime wheel and pineapple leaf
Drop a lime wheel directly into the glass and finish with a pineapple leaf – Rico’s garnish of choice for a Passion For Days that really exaggerates those tropical vibes. - Mango spear
If you’ve made your own mango juice, a mango spear on the rim makes a natural garnish that ties everything together.
If you’ve ever asked your bartender for something fruity, sweet and exotic, you already know what’s great about this drink.

Passion For Days FAQ
Making your own mango juice at home is easy. All you need is a ripe mango, a blender and some water. No need to add sugar – you can always add simple syrup to your drink later if needed.
Here’s how to make mango juice:
-
Select a soft, ripe mango. Use a peeler or a knife to peel off the skin.
-
Cut the mango into chunks, slicing as close to the seed as possible to maximize the amount of flesh.
-
Add the mango chunks into your blender and blend on high, adding 1 cup of water or as much water as needed to achieve your desired juice consistency.
-
Pour the mango mixture from the blender through a fine mesh strainer or sieve to separate the liquid from the pulp.
-
Use a small amount of additional water to help strain the juice, if necessary.
No. One of the beautiful things about this drink is that it’s super simple to make. Everything is made directly in the glass – no need for a cocktail or any fancy bartending tools. All you need is a blender and a citrus press and you’re all set.
If you don’t have a bottle of Absolut Passionfruit, use original Absolut Vodka. We then recommend adding some passion fruit purée to your drink to reintroduce the passion fruit flavor, which is essential to a Passion For Days, hence the name.
Simply add the pulp of a few passion fruits to a blender, along with one teaspoon of water per fruit. Blend the mixture, then strain it through a fine mesh sieve. Start with 10 – 15 ml and then adjust to your preference.
Absolut Vodka was born to mix. You can easily swap Absolut Passionfruit for another Absolut flavored vodka, for example, Absolut Mango or Absolut Watermelon…but it wouldn’t be a Passion For Days cocktail. Howvever, it would still be delicious.
