Whether you’re just having a few friends over for dinner or hosting a full-blown party, Ricardo ‘Rico’ Dynan – Bartender and Absolut Global Brand Ambassador – has put together four classic party drinks that are simple to make at home and will satisfy even the most discerning of guests.
The Secret to Two-Ingredient Cocktails
Three of the four party drinks that Rico suggests here have one thing in common – they’re two-ingredient drinks. This means they’re super easy to make, with both ingredients playing an equal role and complementing each other perfectly. The fourth drink? It has just three ingredients and it’s just as easy to make!
“When you’re making a drink with just two ingredients, make sure they’re the best you can buy,” says Rico.
Believe us, using the best ingredients will make all the difference to your drinks.
Easy-to-Make Batched Party Cocktails
Best of all, depending on the size of your party, all four of drinks can be made as batched cocktails. By making batches of these cocktails, you can spend more time with your guests, and guests can help themselves.
Just use “parts” instead of the specific measurements in our recipes, and set a plate of garnishes. Not sure what a cocktail part is? No worries! Learn all you need to know about drink measurements here.
Now, let’s make some simple party drinks!
1. Moscow Mule
“The Moscow Mule is perfect any time of day,” says Rico. And we agree. The Moscow Mule mixes tangy Ginger Beer, Fresh Lime Juice and oh-so-smooth Vodka. And it’s perfect.
Be sure to make your Moscow Mule with Ginger Beer and not Ginger Ale. Why? “Ginger Beer is not the same as Ginger Ale,” explains Rico. “Ginger Beer originally was a drink made from fermenting ginger sugar and water whereas Ginger Ale is much more of just like a Soda with a Ginger flavoring.”

2. Vodka Soda
“The key to this drink, I think, is to get a lot of fresh Lime Juice in there,” says Rico.
Begin by squeezing fresh Lime Juice into a glass then add Ice Cubes. Next, measure and pour Absolut Vodka directly into the glass and top it up with sparkling Soda Water. Garnish with a Lime Wheel and voila!
So simple, so perfect. Check out our recipe for a Vodka Soda.

3. Vodka Tonic
“You’ll find this being drunk on most patios and porches throughout summer globally,” shares Rico. And for good reason.
Similar to the Vodka Soda, but it uses – you guessed it – Tonic Water instead.
Summertime here we come! Here’s how to make a Vodka Tonic.

4. The Greyhound
Love Grapefruit? So do we. The Greyhound mixes Absolut Grapefruit (Grapefruit-Flavored Vodka) with Fresh Grapefruit.
For this one, we recommend using a Centrifugal Juicer or a normal Hand Blender so your Grapefruit Juice develops this wonderful frothy and airy texture. Trust us, it makes a world of difference. Don’t miss our article on how to get the most juice from your fruits.
Whatever way you juice your Grapefruit, you can’t go wrong with this drink. Here’s how to make The Greyhound cocktail.
