Absolut Peppar Mule Cocktail Recipe
RECIPE BY: RICARDO ‘RICO’ DYNAN
WRITTEN BY: SCOTT VAN DORT
The Absolut Peppar Mule is a bold twist on the classic Moscow Mule, cranking up the heat in an already spicy cocktail. That’s right, the Absolut Peppar Mule uses Black-Pepper Flavored Vodka to create a Mule that’s straight-up fire in a glass!
“The flavor of cracked black pepper goes perfectly with ginger and in a Mule, it’s absolutely divine,” says Ricardo ‘Rico’ Dynan, Bartender and Absolut Global Brand Ambassador.
But don’t just take Rico’s word for it, try it yourself! This simple two-ingredient cocktail is so easy to make, – no shaking or blending. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get mixing!

The History of the Absolut Peppar Mule
The Absolut Peppar Mule is a cocktail created for an episode of Absolut Drinks with Rico in the spring of 2025.
The Absolut Peppar Mule was inspired by the classic Moscow Mule but where a traditional Mule uses Absolut Vodka, the Absolut Peppar Mule spices it up with Absolut Peppar, our Black Pepper Flavored Vodka.
Tips for Making the Perfect Absolut Peppar Mule
- Rim your Rocks Glass with Pepper
We recommend rimming just one side of your Rocks Glass with Crushed Black Pepper instead of the entire rim. This way, you have the option if you want the extra kick of Black Pepper flavor as you sip your drink…or not. - Lime Juice is optional
Taste is personal, so if you prefer your Absolut Peppar Mule without Lime Juice, leave it out. Personally, we love it – Lime Juice works so well with Ginger Beer, where the zesty meets the zingy! You’ll see in the video that Rico doesn’t measure the Lime Juice; he just squeezes half a Lime straight into the glass with a Citrus Elbow. Depending on the Lime, you’ll get about 10 ml to 15 ml of juice. Feel free to adjust the amount to your taste.
- Use your favorite Ginger Beer
Got a favorite brand of Ginger Beer? That’s the one to use for this cocktail! When you’re making a drink with just two ingredients, the quality of your ingredients is even more important. Only the best ingredients will do!
Variations of the Absolut Peppar Mule
Whatever your flavor, there’s a Mule for you!
How about a juicy Mango Mule? A Lime Mule? A Lemon-Flavored Mule? A Mule with Vanilla Flavor? A Peach Mule? A Mandarin Flavored Mule? A Mule with the flavor of Grapefruit? There’s even a Pear Mule. Or simply follow the recipe on this page, use your favorite flavored vodka and choose a garnish that complements or accentuates your chosen flavored vodka.

Serving and Garnish Ideas for an Absolut Peppar Mule
Even though Mule drinks are traditionally served in a Copper Mule Mug or Stainless-Steel Mule Mug, we recommend serving the Absolut Peppar Mule in a Black Pepper-rimmed Rocks Glass. It gives the drink that little bit of sophistication.
Yes, you can…but we much prefer the taste and overall drinking experience of Ginger Beer than Ginger Ale in a Mule. It’s spicier and less sweet.
