All about the Peach On The Beach
Peach on the Beach is a variation of a Sex on the Beach cocktail and shares the same ingredients except that a Peach on the Beach uses peach-flavored vodka.
It mixes together blends peach vodka, peach liqueur, orange juice and cranberry juice into one bright drink. Peach schnapps orange juice and vodka form the core, echoing the flavors you find in beach classics, without making you reach for obscure ingredients.
Served on a highball glass filled with ice cubes, it can be made as a shaken cocktail or built directly in the glass.
Fruity, slightly sweet, slightly tart. You get a burst of peach over layers of tart-sweet cranberry and orange juice. There’s the smoothness of the peach-flavored vodka, where you get the taste of peach stone and the skin of the fruit, which balances out the sweetness of peach schnapps.
While the origins of the Peach on the Beach are unknown, we do know that the Sex on the Beach cocktail came about in the 1980s. A Florida bartender invented it to boost peach schnapps sales. Even though it’s got that classic ’80s and ’90s vibe, a Sex on the Beach cocktail is still a favorite today.
Absolut Peach was launched in 2005, so it’s probable that the Peach on the Beach was created around this time.
- Sex on the Beach
The inspiration behind the Peach on the Beach, both drink recipes are more or less the same but with slightly different ratios and a Sex on the Beach is made with original Absolut Vodka instead of Absolut Peach. Check out the recipe for a Sex on the Beach. - Make it tropical
Follow the recipe on this page but swap the orange juice for pineapple juice to turn your Peach on the Beach into a tropical one! - Safe Sex on the Beach (aka Cuddles on the Beach)
This non-alcoholic version of both the Sex on the Beach and Peach on the Beach leaves out vodka entirely for a delicious summer cocktail. Wanna make it? Grab a highball glass, fill it with ice cubes, and then measure and add the following:60 ml Cranberry Juice
60 ml Grapefruit Juice
40 ml Peach PuréeYou won’t find a better summer mocktail!
- Build your drink
While we prefer shaking our Peach on the Beach, you can build it directly in the glass without a cocktail shaker. In general, building a drink results in a more layered and distinct flavor profile, while shaking a drink blends the ingredients thoroughly, creating a smoother and more unified taste. - Make your own orange juice
You can make a Peach on the Beach with store-bought orange juice…but if you want your drink to be the best tasting drink it can be and that rival the drinks you get when you’re out at a bar or restaurant, then making your own fruit juice is the way to do it.Whether you have a blender, juicer or even just a citrus press, making your own orange juice is simple. No need for sugar or any additives, just the fruit.
- Peach liqueur vs Peach schnapps
The choice is yours. Both work just as well in a Peach On The Beach. Peach schnapps is generally sweeter, while peach liqueur is infused with the real fruit and is less sweet. So, if you have a preference, use that.
- We recommend serving a Peach On The Beach in a highball glass filled with ice cubes. A Collins glass or even a Hurricane glass both work well too.
- To garnish, we suggest a peach wedge placed directly into the glass.
- And hey, if you want to bring your drink closer to the original Sex on the Beach, garnish with a lime wheel and a maraschino cherry.
