What is a Sherbet Shot?

The Sherbet Shot is a versatile vodka shot that can be made with any flavored vodka. It’s a simple 2-ingredient shot made with just vodka and citric syrup. The citric syrup is an overnight process but once it’s made, you’ve got enough for a house full of friends.

What Does an Absolut Sherbet Shot Taste Like?

It depends on the choice of flavored vodka you use. You see, whichever flavors you choose, the citric syrup is going to intensify that flavor. But not only that, the citric syrup will make it even smoother to drink.

As you see in the video, Rico made his Sherbet Shots with Absolut Passionfruit and they were incredible, with the unmistakable, slightly tart passionfruit flavor bursting in the mouth.

The History of Absolut Sherbet Shots

Back in 2015, Ricardo ‘Rico’ Dynan, Bartender and Absolut Global Brand Ambassador, was working with a bustling bar chain in London renowned for crafting fast cocktails at high-volume.

Tasked with creating a new shot ritual for their menu, something he admittedly dreaded, Rico created a citric syrup using citric acid and sugar syrup. This syrup blended seamlessly with Absolut flavored vodkas, enhancing their unique flavors and delivering a smooth shot experience.

The shots became so popular that another major UK company began producing the syrup for the bar and even added it to their product lineup!

Tips for Making the Perfect Sherbet Shots

  • Refrigerate your mixture
Once you’ve mixed your Rich Syrup and Citric Acid with your Vodka, put the Jar in the refrigerator for a couple of hours until it’s nice and cold. A chilled shot really enhances the experience.

  • Use Fresh Lime Juice
Great drinks are all about the details. Sure, you could use store-bought Lime Juice in a bottle. But using the juice from a Fresh Lime to coat the rim of your Shot Glasses will result in a better, fresher tasting shot.

Variations of Sherbet Shots

Experiment with another Absolut Flavored Vodka
Rico uses Passionfruit-Flavored Vodka, but the truth is you could use any Absolut Flavored Vodka, and these shots will be a hit at any party.

Absolut Mango, Lime, Vanilia, Wild Berri, Raspberri, Pears – they’re all amazing. The choice is yours!
