The Raspiroska is a twist on the classic Brazilian cocktail, the Caipiroska. Like the original, it’s an easy-to-make drink where everything is built directly in the glass – all you need is a muddler and a glass.
The Raspiroska combines raspberry-flavored vodka, fresh muddled raspberries, simple syrup, and a squeeze of lime juice. Sweet, tart, and perfect for any casual summer occasion. And since it’s built in the glass, it’s easy to scale up for a crowd.

All about the Raspiroska
The Raspiroska is a vodka cocktail that combines raspberry-flavored vodka, freshly muddled raspberries, simple syrup, and lime juice, served in a rocks glass over plenty of crushed ice. A fruity twist on the popular Brazilian classic, the Caipiroska.
Fruity and raspberry-forward. “You’ve got the elevated flavor of raspberry with those real fresh raspberries in there. You’ve got the sublime flavor of Absolut Raspberri. Everything is blended together to give you a refreshing-tasting, raspberry-forward drink,” shares Ricardo ‘Rico’ Dynan, Bartender and Absolut Global Brand Ambassador.
The Raspiroska was created by the Absolut Drinks Team in 2023 for an episode of Absolut Drinks with Rico featuring Rico and Hedda Bruce, General Manager at Stockholm bar and restaurant, Tjoget.
- Muddle fresh raspberries
Whatever you do, don’t use raspberry syrup. The tartness from fresh raspberries is essential to this drink. Grab a muddler and get to work. And as Rico explains, “Don’t get scared if you don’t have a muddler at home, just use like a rolling pin or the end of a spoon – anything you can use to smash things up.” A muddler is a professional bartending tool, but it’s not the only option. - Taste as you go
As Hedda explains, “You should always taste the cocktail before you add ice. When you’re using fresh fruits, you don’t know how the flavor will be, you maybe need to add extra citrus to balance the sweetness.” After muddling the raspberries, give it a taste and adjust before moving on. - Just a squeeze of lime
You don’t want the lime to overpower the drink – it’s there to balance the sweetness and add acidity. Our recipe calls for 10ml, but start with just a squeeze, taste it, and add more if needed. - Build a crown
When adding crushed ice, fill it all the way to the top and build a little crown. Why? Because we drink first with our eyes. A crown makes the drink look great and creates the perfect platform for your garnish to sit on top.
- Make it your liking
As Rico reccomends, “Play around with this drink. If it’s too sweet, add more sour. If it’s too sour, add more sweet. If you don’t like raspberries, add strawberries. If you don’t like strawberries, add banana. There’s no limits to the creativity”. - Caiprioska
Being that the Raspiroska is a twist on a Caiprioska, it’s only fair we give credit where credit is due. The Caiprioska muddles fresh lime wedges with simple syrup then adding vodka and crushed ice. It’s a Brazilian favorite and for good reason. Discover the recipe for a Caiprioska. - Use another flavored vodka
Follow the recipe for the Raspiroska but substitute Absolut Raspberri for any other Absolut flavored vodka. For example, swap Absolut Raspberri and the muddled raspberries for Absolut Lime together with muddled lime wedges! Alternatively, opt for Absolut Watermelon together with muddled watermelon pieces. Mix it up and make your own drink!
- Glassware
Serve the Raspiroska in a rocks glass packed with crushed ice. Fill it to the brim and pile a little extra on top for that crown effect. Don’t forget a drinking straw.
- Garnish with raspberries
Three fresh raspberries on top – not two, three. Odd numbers just look better when dressing up a drink.
You’ve got the elevated flavor of raspberry with fresh raspberries and the sublime flavor of Absolut Raspberri. Everything is blended together to give you a refreshing-tasting, raspberry-forward drink.

Raspiroska FAQ
You should definitely use crushed ice when you’re making a Raspiroska. It will keep your Raspiroska cooler in the heat, just like they do in Brazil. Crushed ice melts more quickly than ice cubes, therefore, it can slightly increase dilution, which helps integrate the flavors smoothly. This quick melting also keeps the drink cooler for longer, especially in warm weather.
Yes! You can swap Absolut Raspberri for any other Absolut flavored vodka and create an entirely new twist. See the ‘Variations of a Raspiroska’ section above.
To muddle fresh raspberries, add your raspberries into the bottom of your rocks glass, together with simple syrup. Simple syrup makes muddling easier by adding a little liquid to the mix. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press and twist, crushing the berries to release their juices and mix with the syrup. Just press enough to blend flavors without turning them into purée.
