LESSON 1: NICE AND EASY
This first lesson will give you the skill to make a set of nice drinks that are easy to remember. The possibilities for variation are many, as you will see. The goal of this lesson is to make you a versatile home bartender in a few simple steps.
The key to this type of drink is ice. The glass shall be filled with ice. Some people believe this will dilute their drink. This could not be more untrue. It actually works the other way around. The ice will keep the drink cool for as long as you drink it. Furthermore, a glass filled with ice gives the drink a stylish and appealing look. So, prepare your drink mixing session with a lot of ice.
Then, by adding base spirit and a filler like soda or juice to give the taste a nice tweak you are almost done. Adding a garnish like a lemon wedge on top does not only make the drink look nice, it also gives your guest the possibility to add more tart to the drink.
Method: Build on ice – The vodka tonic
Ingredients: Ice cubes (a lot), Absolut Vodka, Tonic water and Lemon. Tools: Glass (highball or rocks), Knife and cutting board

- Take out a highball or a rocks glass. Fill the glass with icecubes all the way up to the rim. This is actually the most important step in this type of drink.
